“Clothing is not only a cover for the body; it is the body’s social skin.” - Roland Barthes, The Fashion System (1967)
From nakedness to cloth, each shift alters how the body is read. In response to exhibition regulations in Singapore that prohibit the display of certain body parts, strips of masking tape are applied as acts of deliberate censorship — concealing while drawing attention, turning absence into presence. Zero Point reflects on choice: between exposure and restraint, regulation and agency, and what we decide to see — or not see.
The XX&L Zero Point T-shirt was created as part of the ZERO POINT installation for XX&L.
